The Sonoma County Event Center at the Fairgrounds is here to serve as a community gathering place. Located in Santa Rosa, our Fairgrounds is home to the Sonoma County Fair. The Sonoma County Fair is among our region's most time-honored and cherished traditions. It began in 1936 when local leaders Joseph T. Grace, Ernest Finley, Emil Kraft, and V.G. Garrett joined forces to create a race track and exposition center to showcase the abundance of Sonoma County.The Fairgrounds are also home to over 200 events a year including festivals, concerts, agricultural shows, horse shows, dog shows, trade shows, cultural, and private events. Our Fairgrounds are here to serve our community as a gathering place for all to enjoy!

Gravenstein Apple Fair

The heart of the Fair is first and foremost the celebrated heirloom Gravenstein Apple, intimately tied to our region and praised by horticulturist Luther Burbank as the most exceptional apple of all for flavor and versatility. We encourage you to take advantage of this fleeting seasonal window to sample and purchase fresh apples, pies, juice, cider, fritters, caramel apples, and more.

Every year we curate a stellar lineup of musicians, artists, crafters, chefs, farmers, ranchers, and artisan producers, and we’re confident that the Gravenstein Apple Fair offers something compelling for all ages and palates.

Turner launched his country music career when he released Long Black Train on Oct. 14, 2003. The project reached No. 4 on the Top Country Albums and No. 29 on the Billboard 200 charts and was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America in 2004. The title track was released as a single, as were "She'll Go on You" and "What It Ain't."

The "Would You Go With Me" singer has gone on to release several albums over the course of his career like Your Man, Haywire, and Country State of Mind. Turner has also released a gospel-heavy album, I Serve a Savior, and a Christmas project, King Size Manger.

Wine Festival

Held on a rural ranch in the heart of West Sonoma County, this unique festival combines quality art and craft, delicious food of all kinds, and a tasting, featuring 40-50 wineries, breweries, and cider-makers. Three stages of entertainment and a nice dance floor give attendees opportunities for dancing, sipping, eating, or shopping for great music. This is a fun family event, with a comedy stage and kids' activities.

A portion of the proceeds goes to Stewards of the Coast & Redwoods, the non-profit working in tandem with the California State Parks in the Russian River region, and the Bodega Volunteer Fire Department.

The Santa Rosa Marathon returns August 26-27, 2023 to celebrate our 15th anniversary of spectacular running through the heart of California wine country. Treat yourself to scenic miles through dazzling vineyards and pastoral beauty along mostly flat courses in beautiful Sonoma County!

Whether you run the 5K, 10K, half marathon, or marathon, two complimentary beers (21+) will be waiting for your arrival at the Old Courthouse Square after-party in downtown Santa Rosa. All marathon and half marathon finishers will also take home a complimentary bottle of wine from DeLoach Vineyards.
