Best Date Night Spots for Valentine's Day
Whether you’re looking for a romantic date night out with your significant other this Valentine’s Day, or if you are avoiding the holiday entirely and plan on staying cozy on the couch, we’ve got you covered!
We’ve put together our favorite romantic and fun things to do throughout Sonoma County with your significant other, best friend, or family.
Enjoy the Hiking Trails
Sugarloaf Ridge: This hike offers incredible views of Santa Rosa and beyond. Try to make it to their evening star parties, where you can take in romantic views of our galaxy!
Helen Putnam Regional Park: Offering ridge top trails with panoramic views, there is also a fishing pond and gazebo for some relaxation.
Armstrong Redwoods: This is probably the most romantic hike for couples - get lost in the ancient and majestic redwood groves!
Spend the Day Wine Tasting
With so many amazing wineries to choose from here in Sonoma County, here are just a couple we enjoy:
Truett Hurst Winery: Offering small-production wines, their speciality is Zinfandel. Find a table in their olive grove or pasture-view area, then head back to the bar for your next wine.
Paradise Ridge: After being greatly affected by the 2017 firestorm, the rebuild is underway! Make sure to check out their Kenwood location, including their beautiful Sensory Garden.
Try A New Restaurant
What better time than Valentine's Day should you and your significant other (or family!) go outside your comfort zone and try out new food?
We recommend Diavola in Geyserville, Valette in Healdsburg, Handline in Sebastopol, and Bird & The Bottle in Santa Rosa.
A Day at the Beach
The Sonoma coast offers incredibly romantic ocean views. Grab some blankets and check out a few beaches we enjoy:
Portuguese Beach: one of the largest sandy beaches in the area. A great place to watch the waves crashing on the rocks.
Shell Beach: Set below steep bluffs, this beach is great for exploring tide pools. If you're in the mood to hike, make sure to check out Kortum Trail along the bluff.
Setup A Picnic
There are countless places to enjoy some delicious cheese and sandwiches in Sonoma County:simply find a secluded vineyard and voila!
If you are looking for something a little more planned, we like the quaint plazas in Healdsburg and Sonoma, as well as spots along the Russian River.
Catch A Play
Enjoy a night of entertainment by catching a play at the 6th Street Playhouse in Santa Rosa, Raven Theater in Healdsburg, or Spreckels Performing Arts Center in Rohnert Park.
